A hearty good morning to my dear old Burnchums!

It's been a while since I had ten minutes in my morning to write a blog...so it's nice to feel the fresh morning breeze as I write my shitty blog.

First things first...Steve Jobs has died.  If that's news to you...then you need to start reading shit other than this blog...I think I had four emails and forty Facebook updates about it within three minutes of the poor fella expiring (or is the correct term shutting down?).

Sad times.  He was an interesting fella...I recently read iCon Steve Jobs: The Greatest Second Act in the History of Business by Jeffrey S Young and iWoz Computer Geek to Cult Icon: How I Invented the Personal Computer, Co-Founded Apple, and Had Fun Doing It by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak...and it's clear that Steve Jobs was a weird fella...with a rare ability to surround himself with extremely talented people...and then drive those people to create things that they didn't realise that they could create.  He had some incredible success...but he also had some monumental failures...and I guess that his ability to overcome his fuckups and then move on to more success, is what defined the latter stage of his career.  He's well respected in Korea...The Bird's Dad went out and bought himself some New Balance shoes because 'Stebuh Jobs wears them'.  When your choice of shoes can influence a racist old fella, half the world away...well..that's some reach!  My choice of footwear wouldn't influence a semi-retarded beggar who happened to be in the same room as me!

Sad times.  RIP Steve Jobs and all that guff...I guess it's too much to expect that the media will exercise some restraint and eulogise appropriatly...especially with the launch of the iPhone 4S yesterday...there's bound to be an absolute frenzy about the whole thing.  Sad that someone dying can become a 'media event'.
