Hello Burnfans!
Today is 'are you O.K' day or some such back home in Aus...and it's a day about asking your mates how they are. I'm O.K. I'm lucky though. I went through a pretty difficult time earlier this year (and at other times in my life) and my friends (and family) were there for me. The messages that I received, through this blog, via email, and on Facebook, all taught me that I need to appreciate the people in my life more. It was a valuable lesson...make no mistake! Now, depression is no laughing matter, and if any of my Burnfans, friends or family ever feel down, they should contact me...any of you. I don't mind...I'm always happy to have a chat. Now...time for some shit my kids write. In the Special Class, I get the kids to keep a journal. Today, I thought that I would share some of their journal entries with you. Todays entries are all from two third grade girls.
"Today I played with my Cindy. We played blocks and we played piano and Cindy had a lot of food. She asked me "What is this?" again and again. because she is only 3 years old."
"Today I went Church. I like Church. Because, jejus made my body and jejus Love me. And we belived jejus. And we love jejus."
"Today Min-Gyong and Nina is come to my home. They are my best friend. Today, they kiss! I don't like kiss. Because kiss is dirty! Today happy, because today my best friend is come to my home."
"Today's I went to go school. My teacher's buy the Ice-cream. I'm is a pig - oink oink! Today's I'm a happy."
"Today I didn't know fact. It is a my mom and dad is fighting. I don't know why! Because, is a mom and dad audit. But my parents is fighting. They figure I can't see. I'm sad. But my parents amicable."
"Today I study my cramming. But, hard pupil. I study cramming. I'm a very, very, hard pupil to I'm a study. I'm a king. Pupil ha ha. I'm a study cramming king!"
"Today is a hungry day. Because, I went to go academy, school. But, I went to academy or school. I'm a very hungry! (I'm a hungy caterpillar? Burndog teacher?) So today is a hungry day."
"Morning, there was a sound, boom! I looked, a car fell down to our school playground. A first grade child got deep wound. So, he, he, he...died. I was so surprised and sad."
"Yesterday, a big accident, like a lesson. I will think safety more. A little mistake made a big accident, so I will think, first is safety. Second is safety too."
"I got cold. Most friends are in cold. I think cold move to me from Irene. I got fever at evening. I got fever remedy, then I got better. I want all disease go away from humans."

ReplyDeleteMt 1st year in Korea my Hagwon had a bring your friend to the hagwon day. One of my students did.
ReplyDeleteWhen they dropped her, and her friend, off at their apartment building some fucktard decided to ignore the bus is stopped sign.
He killed her friend and fucked her up. Her friend died and she, well she never came back to the hagwon and from what I heard it was many months before she got out of the hospital. (And yeah that was repetative but it still hurts thinking about it.) She never came back to our school.
It never gets easier.
Shit...that's terrible. We were lucky really...every time I look down at the driveway here and see the hole in the steel fence...I wonder how no other kids were killed or seriously injured. Losing one student is hard enough.
